Honeystreet via Pewsey Wharf where we walked into Pewsey proper for a look around and to do some provisions shopping.
It was such a lovely day we stopped off at Honeystreet, the Crop Circle capital of the world, for a drink. Unsurprisingly none of the old crowd were there in fact I have not seen anyone I remember on any of the boats so far. Even the proprietor of the Barge Inn has changed.
12th Black Horse Devizes 1 mile 3 locks
We pulled over at the Black Horse prior to tackling the Devizes flight which includes the Caen Hill flight for a rest. We can't find another boat to share the locks with as we take up the whole lock on our own with the two boats.
16th Seend Wharf 3 3/4 miles 29 locks 2 swing bridges
Four days later we were at Seend Wharf where Peter visited and we had lunch at the Barge Inn.
The following day we bumped into the guy who wears a headband. We met him at the top of the Wigan flight a few years ago where my travelling companion had an altercation with a boater who was moored on the water point. We all reminisced about it and his wife confided that she also can lose her rag from time to time.
Emailed peak flow and blood pressure readings to the practice nurse at RugbyInvestigated the possibility of a day out in Paington. Checked out the train times and route.
22nd
A thoroughly enjoyable day out encompassing a variety of travel options. Caught the mainline train from Avoncliffe to Bristol Temple Meads where we changed to the Paignton train. Once there we caught the steam train to Kingswear where we jumped on the paddle steamer to Dartmouth.
Spent yesterday recovering from an exciting day out then off to Weymouth for the day Unfortunately neither of us took our cameras today so no record of the trip.
Stopped off at Claverton, a must see as it has only just been commissioned after many years being restored.
Got to Sells Green after five days of slow cruising but got stuck for a couple of days because the pound was down by 18 inches.
