1st punk.animals.optimally - Stoke Golding

Went shopping at Thomlinsons again. We have been chatting on and off for the past few months to a woman that is looking after her travelling companion who is suffering with dementia and eventually we have found out their names, Keith and Suzie. Each has their own boat, Suzie is on Etherow and Keith is on Pilgrim.

3rd nobody.noises.boring - 3½ miles - Nutts Lane.

Moved to Nutts Lane as I had booked an eye test with Specsavers, they arrived and were intrigued that we live on a boat all year round. They were most taken and asked if they could take a short video of the room where the consultation was to take place.
It was conducted perfectly normally and all the usual tests were done.

4th

Got a delivery from Tesco. Took D'fer to the vet for his booster jabs and a consultation about his enlarged testicle, not malignant but could do with coming off as it is getting in the way of walking. Downside it that he is likely to age quite quickly.

10th

D'fer got castrated today to remove the enlarged testicle which was getting in his way. Got a delivery from Asda this time.

11th to 16th

Caught the fuel boat and topped up with diesel before he could get away, no coal as he had run out. Got 4 bags of coal from the other fuel boat the next day.
Spent the whole of the next day catching up on the washing.

17th wharfs.doskers.jingles - 7 miles - Hartshill Depot.

Remember the load of Ash that we collected a while ago? and I said that there was loads left, well we stopped off for another load. Called in to Springwood Haven to purchase varnish.

18th replaying.remarried.hormones - 3 miles - Atherstone

Popped into town to get a box of boxes of Borax Substitute, it can be difficult to source and when it is available I buy loads.
my travelling companion introduced me to Borax Substitute ans I will admit that I was a little sceptical at first but I have become converted to it's cleaning abilities.Got a pizza from the coop while I was there.

19th to 24th

Processed the latest load of wood.
Got a delivery of dogfood from The Pet Store. Iceland deliver here so got three packs of frozen trout (for a tenner) and some other stuff to make up a carriage paid delivery.
Went shopping at Tomlinsons for the Christmas fare.

25th

Dog throwing up on the tow path all morning, mostly bones, he finished off too many last night. The bones did smell a bit dickey as did the Christmas chicken. I had left the chicken in the wrapping it came in and it also smelt off. Emptied the fridge, defrosted the freezer. Dog threw up in the lounge. There is a little hole at the back of the fridge that is meant to be a drip hole so that when the fridge defrosts the excess water drains off through it. It looked as if it might be blocked so we pulled the fridge out and investigated ways of cleaning it from the back. Once we were happy with the cleanliness of the drain hole we reassembled the fridge, put it back in place and repacked the freezer and the fridge. Roast sausages and roast mince patties for Christmas dinner.

31st

We've been having trouble starting Dennis for a while now but this morning it came to a head so we got Mark to come out and fit two new filters and got the engine running, sort of. We were booked in for a full service next week but it just couldn't wait.
